Washington Butler is a Puyallup native who was awed by arts and culture from an early age. She has performed on stage and in schools. She relocated to Los Angeles to study theatre at the University of Southern California and was later Belle the princess in Beauty and the Beast for about a year at Disneyland. After she quit school, she began searching for an agency to represent her talents and trying out for work on television and film. Butler made an appearance as a guest star on the TV series CSI: Miami, CSI: NY. The actress was also cast in the films A Couple of White Chicks at the Hair Dresser (2008) and Flu Bird Horror (2008 Syfy TV Horror Film). Butler was featured that year on the web series Luke 11 17 produced by Don Stark. Butler performed the role of lead for I Spit on Your Grave (2010), which is a remake of the 1978 classic film with identical title. It was initially a turn-off for her because of the violence, nakedness and gender-based undertones. However, the compelling plot and the feminist aspect helped her decide to accept the part. Steven R. Monroe helmed the film, which came out on October 8th, 2010. Butler started filming The Stranger Within (a psychological thriller) in Spain, Mallorca together with Estella Ward and William Baldwin back in November 2011. The film was also scheduled to shoot on location in Copenhagen Denmark and New York City.She was part of the crew for the film, an independent one Treachery with Michael Biehn which began filming in Los Angeles in June 2012. Butler played a role in 2013's thriller The Demented with Michael Welch as well as Kayla Ewell.
